Our Reverse Engineering Capabilities
C.S. Simmons Engineering provides reverse engineering of legacy, worn, or fractured components where OEM parts are obsolete or unavailable. In cases where original castings or forgings are discontinued, components are re-manufactured from solid stock using appropriate alloys.
The process typically involves dimensional recovery through CMM measurement and/or precision manual metrology, followed by reconstruction of the original geometry in CAD. CAD-CAM integration enables the generation of accurate CNC toolpaths, while engineering judgment and workshop expertise are applied to restore design intent where wear or damage has obscured critical features.
This workflow ensures that replacement parts achieve correct form, fit, and function on first manufacture, even when the only reference available is a degraded component. Quality assurance is maintained through ISO 9001:2015 certified processes, with full traceability and CMM inspection of finished parts.
